The ferocious Vikings came from Scandinavia and terrified the Anglo-Saxons who had settled down in Britain. They invaded in dragon-headed longships and eventually became farmers and traded goods with other countries. They were skilled fishermen, explorers, artists and crafts people. They sailed to North America, even before Christopher Columbus, and reached Jerusalem and Baghdad in the east. The Viking age lasted about 300 years and their impact can still be seen in cities such as York. Timeline, glossary, word search and lots of activities bring the Vikings to life!
